Mission: 
The Northland Birth Network is an action-based, non-profit community organization of birth professionals and consumers who offer support, education and evidence-based information about normal birth practices as defined by the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services’ Mother Friendly Birth Initiative and Lamaze Institute for Normal Birth’s Six Care Practices That Support Normal Birth. 
 
The purpose/goals of this organization is:
  • to offer support, education and evidence-based information about normal birth to women and families, as defined by the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services’ Mother Friendly Birth Initiative and Lamaze Institute for Normal Birth’s Six Care Practices That Support Normal Birth;
  • to promote the awareness and availability of mother-friendly maternity care in our community;
  • to serve as a source of support, training and education  for caregivers that support normal birth
  • to sponsor innovative programming that elevates dialogue about normal birth and affects powerful policy change;
  • to advocate for transparency in maternity care;
  • to create a marketing collaborative for members
